49 Anglers fished the annual Bedford Hospitals Cup on the Gt Ouse at Willington Bedfordshire. The match sponsored by Blunham Angling Club and Vauxhall Angling Club saw some challenging fishing after the recent rains. However the river did not disappoint and a very close top 5 weights made it a very even contest. Neil Shearne who won back in 1984 triumphed again with 11lb 2oz with Paul Grant second 10lb 14oz and Terry Noble so close again to a first win 10lb 11oz. The match which apart from WW2 has been run every year since 1936 in aid of the Bedford Hospital raised £775 this year.
